Double-Glazed Glass Units

Product Description

A- Normal Double Glazing:

  • Consists of two layers of glass with a spacer between them filled with desiccant material.
  • The two glass layers are bonded with the first insulating material, usually butyl.
  • Normal double glazing is commonly installed internally or within a frame that shields it from these external factors.

B- Structural Double Glazing:

  • It follows the same operational method as normal double glazing, but with the difference that the air gap is placed within an aluminum spacer.
  • The two glass layers are then bonded to the spacer using the first insulating material, typically butyl.
  • structural double glazing is installed in areas exposed to high temperatures, extreme weather conditions, and environmental factors.

C- Single Structural Glazing:

  • It consists of a single layer of glass that is directly bonded to the spacer. It is used in fully glazed facades and does not require a second layer.
  • It is possible to incorporate various design elements within the single or double structural glazing units, such as Georgian-style shapes or CNC wood.
  • Additionally, printing can be applied to one of the glass layers. Furthermore, curtains can be used within the normal double-glazing units.

Another type of double-glazed glass units:

1-Low-Emissivity Glass

  • Glass with a Low-E coating considered the highest level of double glass units, works mainly to minimize the heat exchange between the interior and exterior, thereby improving the thermal insulation efficiency of windows, doors, and glass facades.
  • This reduces reliance on heating and cooling systems, energy savings, and enhanced building thermal comfort.
  • Glass with a Low-E coating also has two additional features which are:
    • Security Protection: Enhanced double glazing is used in commercial and residential buildings that require a higher level of security, as it can be reinforced with a layer of break-resistant glass or laminated glass.
    • Noise Reduction: Enhanced double glazing is employed in areas exposed to high noise levels, such as airports or highways, to provide better sound insulation and reduce noise

In general, both standard and enhanced double glazing find various applications in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, where their benefits in improving thermal insulation, sound insulation, and security are utilized.

2- CNC wood, steel, and Georgian pieces

  • By incorporating CNC-cut wood, steel, and Georgian pieces into the double-glazed units, intricate and precise designs can be achieved, by customized and unique interior decor.
  • This technique allows for creating stunning effects, such as engravings, geometric patterns, or artistic motifs. It can be applied to windows, doors, glass walls, room dividers, and other interior applications.
  • Placing CNC wood, steel, and Georgian pieces inside the double-glazed units requires careful installation using appropriate techniques and equipment. so the collaboration between interior designers, specialized CNC wood, steel, and Georgian suppliers, and the double-glazed glass manufacturer is necessary to ensure proper installation and achieve the desired results in the interior design.

Product Benefits

Double-glazed glass units benefits:

  • Thermal Insulation and Cooling: Double glazing is used in windows and doors to improve thermal insulation by reducing the transfer of heat and cold from the outside to the inside and vice versa.
  • Sound Insulation: Double glazing helps to reduce the transmission of noise from the outside to the inside and vice versa, creating a quiet and comfortable indoor environment.
  • Protection and Safety: Double glazing enhances security and protects property from intrusion and breakage, as it is difficult to penetrate both glass layers and gain access to the interior.
  • Double-glazed glass can be made in a curved shape by assembling two layers of curved glass.
